The Elephant in the Brain (2018) delves at the selfish motivations that drive much of our conduct but that we'd rather not be aware of.

"Kevin Simler is an author, designer, and engineer. He has primarily written on human behavior and philosophy. The majority of his work is available on his blog, MeltingAsphalt.com. Simler's headquarters are in San Francisco, California. Robin Hanson is an Oxford University research associate and an associate professor at George Mason University in Virginia. Hanson received his Ph.D. in social science from the California Institute of Technology and has worked with artificial intelligence for NASA and Lockheed Martin, the world's largest aerospace and military firm.
