Peter William Atkins is a Fellow of Lincoln College at the University of Oxford and an English chemist. He is an accomplished author of popular chemistry textbooks such as Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Molecular Quantum Mechanics. Atkins is also the author of several popular science books, including Atkin's Molecules, Galileo's Finger: The Ten Great Ideas of Science, and On Being.
