For Better Experience

Against Empathy (2016) presents a plethora of scientific information that demonstrates empathy for what it is: a misguided emotional reaction that has lead many individuals to make poor judgments. While many people have urged others to be more empathic, Paul Bloom demonstrates that empathy can make things worse rather than better.

Paul Bloom is a psychologist who was born in Canada and raised in the United States. At Yale University, he is the Brooks and Suzanne Ragen Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science. His study focuses on how children and adults perceive the physical and social worlds, with a particular emphasis on language, morality, religion, fiction, and art.
