A Brief History Of Time

by- Stephen Hawking

A Brief History of Time (1988) examines the history of scientific thought as well as the concepts that form our current understanding of the universe. Hawking provides a concise explanation of both the origins of the universe and the complicated science behind it, from big bangs and black holes to the smallest particles in the universe, all explained in a way that even readers who are being exposed to these theories for the first time can understand.

Stephen Hawking, PhD (1942-2018), was a theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author who is best known for his work on Hawking radiation and the Penrose-Hawking theorems. Hawking received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, was an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a lifetime member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences while serving as the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge from 1979 to 2009.
